Ughh, Gretchen said one last picture to remember her by...what can I say, she can be a bit of a drama queen sometimes...

If you guys remember when I unveiled my icon, Gretchen Smoochie, about a month ago I said that she perfectly conveyed the way I felt about my situation!!! You know, all of the BAD DECISIONS and how I felt about what I had done. Basically, the circumstances that had brought my life to a screeching halt and brought me here to Blogstream to try to figure out.

But I also said that once ONE thing was back in place (job, place of my own, whatever) I'd change my icon to reflect my progress. So now that I have a new job it's time for a new icon, as promised.

So without further adu...here are the candidates. Let me know what you guys think.

College was a real good time!!!

4. I still have and wear the hiking boots that my dad gave to me back in High School...ever time I put them on I remember him. I was blessed to have him as a dad. Love ya dad!!!

Here's what happened...my dear Steve called...mad at the world. First he calls to tell me he had a bad day. We talked for a bit then hung up. He calls back a second time but this time I can tell that he has been drinking a bit.

He's talked to the ex-wife and the other ex in his life and told both of them how he feels about them. I'm OK up until this point...listening...empathzing. And then he starts in on what's wrong with me. Yes, it's true that our child is suffering because she is not with her mom and dad at the same time...but as you all know its for a damm good reason!

At this point I say to him..."you know, this is the way that it goes. you start with them and you end with me." Steve says back, "oh you don't deserve it"

And here's where the different behavior on my part came in...usually I would say..."OK, you're right, it is my fault" (and let him beat me up until he felt better).

Tonight I said, "you know...I don't feel like having this conversation." And he hung up on me.

Well, best you believe that won't be the end and I'll probably get woken up at 1:00 with him telling me that it's over. My God, what a mess...but I do believe that something happened tonight...or at least I hope so...God, please let it be so.

SNOW DAY!!!...well, more like a slush day so they canceled school. And what was the first thing that came to mind?...Great, TIME TO CATCH UP WITH MY BLOGGING BUDDIES!!! And catch up with my shows on Nick Jr. (I just love Lazy Town).

So after I consulted with the appropriate people...

ME: OK, I need to go in for a bit because this probably will be that day I'll be discovered off the street for that Ford modeling contract.

HIM: Sure, I hear you but if I don't go in the CEO won't have me available for questions and then the Fortune 500 company that I work for will probably have to file for bankruptcy. Millions of jobs are a stake if I don't go in!

ME: How about I work till noon?

HIM: OK, works for me.

[12 NOON rolls around...]

ME: OK, chicks (the cubs are chicks today in honor of the snow), what do you want to do?


Oldest chick (the minute I walk in the door): Mom, can you take me over to Mark's House?

ME: Sure. Dearest middle chick, you lucked out...while you didn't have your homework done for today you now have more time...GO DO IT NOW!!! And put those marshmallows down!!!

Middle chick: I think my arms broken

ME: OK, I'll take you to the hospital, but you know when you come home no TV.

Middle chick: You know mom, the feeling is starting to come back...

ME:

Baby chick: I'm hungry!!!

ME: What do you want baby, mommy will get it for you.

It's gonna be a fun day...I just LOVE SNOW DAYS!!!
