The Restoration of ME

 Hope, Part II...What is Hope?

What is Hope?

To Want? To desire?
To expect that what’s envisioned
may indeed happen?

Yes to all of the above.

Is hope that gut feeling that it’s
worth holding out
and hanging on for just a little longer?

ABSOLUTELY.

Is hope the core of the human condition?

CERTAINLY.

Can you have hope without
Faith and humility and wonder?

THAT’S TOUGH.

Just the thought that there’s something bigger,
something truer, something totally surprising
out there waiting for us is…priceless.

What would you be without hope
growing deep in your bones,
thriving in every inch of you?

NOTHING.

What does it take to Hope?

EVERYTHING.

Hope takes never ceasing
to be amazed…

Wearing your soul on your sleeve…

Holding your breath, waiting to hear
“I love you, too…”

Believing that tomorrow could be better
than today
that you’ll get a second chance
that you’ll make a difference
that you matter.

PS...Gotta thank my very special friend, Lucy @ LookinforLucy, for showing me another way to color my world.

Hope, Part I...movies and true love

[Our story so far: Girl falls in love...girl gets divorced. Girl falls in love again but has to make heart wrenching choice between her children and her mate...she chooses the children and ends up heartbroken (and broke). Girl falls in love one more time only to have it end in heartbreak again.]

Final Scene:

Girl sitting in a movie theater watching a love scene with happy tears streaming down her face.

[Movie playing in the background. Man in the movie speaks. "Yes, I do love you. I've always loved you...you are my life"]

Girl stands up and shouts: "Oh yeah, now that's what I'm talking about!!! True love...way to go!!!"

First movie patron leans over to second patron and says, "Great another love junkie."

[Closing credits for now]

Yup, that's me y'all I'm the girl and I'm a bona fide love junkie. I love being in love. I KNOW, I KNOW IT'S NOT MY TIME...I HAVE SO MUCH TO DO. But that doesn't mean I can't celebrate it, right? I've been watching this great movie...Two for the Money starring Al Pacino and Rene Russo. Great great movie!!!

What grabbed me about it was the end. Al's character is trying desperately to sabotage his marriage to Rene. In the end when she finds out what he's done she makes the decision to stay with him despite his actions. I loved the meaning of this scene. The way she loved him despite all of his bad behavior.

And no I'm not advocating that someone stay if the behavior ever becomes abusive...you guys know me better than that, I hope. I've spent the last 10 months learning the difference between healthy and unhealthy love. Thank you Taylor @ Love and Light from Healing Creek and everyone else for helping me with that. Check out this post she did, it's awesome!!!

I know that true love has a lot of different meaning to different people but this is one of my definitions of true love.

I have a couple of other movies that personify true love to me. It might sound silly...movies and all but I'm a big fan and that's where I get a lot of my inspiration. Oh well...

My second movie is The Matrix. I just loved the ending scene when Trinity was standing over Neo. Neo had just "died" in the matrix and Trinity's love brings him back. Yeah, I went crazy when I saw that. I really did stand up in the movie theater. Love conquers all!!! Love wins!!!

My last movie that I absolutely can't get enough of is What Dreams May Come. In this movie Robin Williams and his wife are soul mates. They face a difficult time in their relationship when he dies as does she. The movie then goes through the journey through hell that they are both willing take for their love. So powerful!!! True love is willing to do what it takes!!!

I think that some movies do a good job of conveying message and I love my true love movies. But that's Hollywood with a huge amount of fantasy mixed in but you know dreams do come true.

But I think the meaning of true love in the real world goes like this...

Love is patient, Love is kind,
It does not envy, it does not boast,
It is not proud, It is not rude,
It is not self-seeking,
It is not easily angered,
It keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil,
but rejoices with the truth.

Love always protects, always trusts,
always hopes, always perseveres.

Love bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never ends.

Gotta lighten up...gotta lighten up...gotta lighten up!!!

I am passing this on to you because it definitely worked for me, and we all could use more calm in our lives.

By following the simple advice I heard on the Oprah Show, I have finally found inner peace. Oprah proclaimed the way to achieve inner peace was to finish all the things you have started.

So I looked around my house to find things I started and hadn't finished. And before leaving the house this morning I finished a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of White Zinfandel, a bottle of Baileys, a bottle of Kahlua, a package of Oreos, the remainder of the Valium prescriptions, the rest of the cheesecake, Doritos, and a box of chocolates.

You have no idea how freaking good I feel right now!!!

Please pass this on to those you feel are in need of inner peace.

 Arrrrhhhh!!! Here I go Again!!!

When all of this is done, when I'm looking back on this time in my life when I had nothing but myself I'll remember how much like a roller coaster it felt.

How I was up one day believing that everything was going to be OK...to fighting like hell with tears in my eyes the next day to remind myself that indeed everything was going to work out.

This is insane.

And do you know who my greatest foe is? Myself.

I look in the mirror and see this person whom I love and care so much about. But somewhere in the background a voice starts to speak. It says look...you have nothing but yourself. How can you even begin to look into that mirror? You should hang your head in shame. Look at the mess that you've made of your life.

And I know this one...she's my demon. The one who would have me hate myself. The lonely child who never felt good about herself and took that message to heart. The one who never felt that she belonged or that she was precious or that she had any value.

It's three in the morning and I'm fighting for my life.

The goal then? To begin to make peace with this one.

How? Don't know but I know it has to be done. She's in my way. I have a journey to finish and there is no room for extra baggage.

So come here demon and let's talk so that I can tell you something...

I WILL restart my career...
I WILL have my own space...
I WILL be able to support my children once again...
and I WILL find love again.

Believe it!!!

 Quote for the Day

My friend Val @ The Sword of Justice & Other Stuff just did another one of her thought provoking posts. It reminded me of one of my favorite quotes. Hope ya all have a sweet and wonderful day and don't forget to live it large!!!

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who are we to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest the Glory of God within us. It's in everyone. And as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

~Marianne Williamson
